U14 Development Level Program

For older kids who have completed the Entry Level Program, or for those who have not but would like to get involved in competitive alpine ski racing, we offer a full set of BC Alpine sponsored and FIS sanctioned programs starting at 12 years old.

Our U14 programs are aimed at proficient young skiers who want to pursue racing.

​

​The focus is on a higher level of skiing and coaching with skiers spending more hours on the snow. Training takes place on Tuesdays, Thursdays, Saturdays and Sundays. Additionally, the athletes are given the opportunity to participate in regular races offered at a variety of mountains in British Columbia.

Training at this level is more frequent and more demanding than the Entry Level Program, but the coaching staff strives to maintain the fun factor. Our U14 Coaches encourage athletes to grow individually and gain confidence in their racing ability. Race results are recorded through the ski season and the race season culminates in the final provincial races.

The U14 program has two-tier options:

• The U14 Core Program will be Tues AND Thurs nights 5:30-8:30 and one weekend day 8:30-2:30.  Athletes in U14 core have a choice of  Saturday OR Sunday

• The U14 Accelerated Program will include Tues AND Thurs nights 5:30-8:30 plus both weekend days Sat AND Sun 8:30-2:30

 

We offer the option of Core and Accelerated U14 Programs to:

• To provide an improved progression of time on snow from 1st yr to 2nd year U14 athletes

• To provide options for athletes to provide more opportunity to choose their participation level so they can manage their academics, other sports, and budgets

Our racers in U14 join their team mates in overnight trips to the various race venues under the care of our coaches.  Athletes are encouraged to practice self discipline, understand the value of personal growth and enjoy skiing all under the watchful eyes of caring skilled coaches.

Coaching fees do not include race costs or lift passes.
