The Nancy Greene Ski League (NGSL) Under 10 is designed for kids eight to nine years old. Fundamental skills are introduced at this level in a safe and fun environment through gate training and versatile skier development. The goal for kids who progress through the program is to develop speed control and confidence in a variety of terrain creating confident skiers in and out of the race course.

Skiers are grouped with others within their age and skill range and are coached and supervised by professional CSCF coaches. Within their groups, the skiers will develop strong technical and versatile skiing skills following Alpine Canada’s Snow Star Program. Skiers will also be able to participate in a number of fun and competitive team-based races over the season.

The U10 program has two-tier options:
-
The Core U10 Program is one-day per week. Participants can choose between Saturday or Sunday 8:30-1:00
-
The Accelerated U10 Program is two training sessions per week. Tuesday evenings (10x sessions 5PM to 8PM) which allows us to give additional time on snow to athletes in this age category.

We offer the option of Core and Accelerated U10 Programs to:
-
To provide an improved progression of time on snow from 1st yr to 2nd year U10 athletes
-
To provide options for athletes to provide more opportunity to choose their participation level so they can manage their academics, other sports, and budgets

The only requirement for joining the U10 Program is an intermediate skiing ability. Children need to be able to get on and off of a chair lift without assistance, and the ability to ski an intermediate run under control. If you have any questions or concerns please contact the club.

Please note that we cannot accept children who have not skied before or are beginner level skiers. If your child is either of these please have a look at the programs offered by the Mt Seymour Snow School.

Good eating habits are set early on in life so please keep this in mind when packing your child’s snack. Sugar-laden food does not make for good ski racer fuel.
