alpine program | 11-16

For older kids who have completed the Nancy Greene program, or for those who haven't but would like to get involved in competitive alpine ski racing, we offer a full set of BC Alpine sponsored and FIS sanctioned programs starting at 11 years old. Our K1, for ages 11-12, and the K2, ages 13-14, programs are aimed at proficient young skiers who want to pursue racing. The focus is on a higher level of skiing and coaching with skiers spending more hours on the snow. Training takes place on Tuesdays, Thursdays, Saturdays and Sundays. As well the athletes are given the opportunity to participate in regular races offered at a variety of mountains in British Columbia.

Training at this level is more frequent and more demanding than the Nancy Greene level, but the coaching staff strives to maintain the fun factor. Our K1 / K2 Head Coach Rob Lahti was competitive at the World Cup level and has a great rapport with kids in the program. Coaches encourage students to grow individually and gain confidence in their racing ability. Race results are recorded through the ski season and the race season culminates in the final provincial races.

Our racers join their team mates in overnight trips to the various race venues under the care of our coaches. Skiers are encouraged to practice self discipline, understand the value of personal growth and enjoy skiing all under the watchful eyes of caring skilled coaches.

Coaching fees do not include the family membership, race costs or lift passes. Discounts are available for those families registering more then one child.
